Report: New striker target emerges for Tottenham just days before the deadline

Tottenham have turned their attentions to landing Benfica striker Haris Seferovic before the transfer window shuts, according to reports.

Portuguese publication O Jogo (as relayed by Sport Witness) reported on Tuesday that Spurs have expressed an interest in Seferovic with just a few days of the transfer window left.

The report claims that the Lilywhites will now decide whether to make an offer for the Swiss international in the coming hours and days.

The 27-year-old has scored six goals and provided four assists in twenty-six appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese giants so far this campaign (transfermarkt).

However, with the forward falling out of favour at Benfica recently, it is suggested that a deal can be struck between the two clubs before the transfer deadline.

West Ham United are also said to keen on landing the former Eintracht Frankfurt forward as David Moyes looks to bolster his forward line ahead of Friday’s deadline.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is to be expected that we would be linked with every available striker in the final few days of the transfer window. I think it is likely a case of Seferovic’s agent trying to drum up interest in the striker by leaking stories to the press. I cannot see the Lilywhites going for the Swiss international over some of the names they’ve been linked with.
