Newcastle United have now entered the race for Aaron Ramsey, who has been linked with a shock move to Tottenham this summer, Goal.com have revealed.
Ramsey has failed to hit the expected heights since joining Juventus as a free agent in January of last year after his contract with the Gunners ran out.
Spurs have been linked with a controversial move for the midfielder, with the Serie A giants thought to be intent on getting his £250,000-a-week salary off their wage bill.
Goal.com have now revealed that Newcastle have also expressed an interest in the Wales international.
The report explains that the Magpies have sounded out the Old Lady about the availability of the former Arsenal man.
It is explained that there is no shortage of interest from Premier League clubs in Ramsey.
However, the report adds that Steve Bruce’s men have only had informal discussions for the player so far and have not entered into serious transfer talks.

Even putting Ramsey’s Arsenal past aside, I believe Spurs should be aiming higher than the 30-year-old, particularly given his form and injury record over recent years.
If he does return to the Premier League this summer, I cannot see any of last season’s top eight singing him. The Welshman will likely end up at a club like Newcastle.
