Report: Newcastle face double injury blow ahead of trip to Spurs this weekend

The Daily Mail have revealed that Newcastle United will be without Allan Saint-Maximin for their trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next Sunday.

Tottenham beat Everton 2-0 to maintain their perfect home form this season and to set a record for the most points the club have ever accumulated from their first ten Premier League games, with Antonio Conte’s men sitting level with Manchester City on 23.

The Lilywhites now have a tough trip to Old Trafford to look forward to on Wednesday before they welcome Newcastle to North London on Saturday.

The Mail have now revealed that the Magpies will be without one of their most potent attacking threats in the form of Saint-Maximin, who missed the 0-0 draw against Man Utd on Sunday due to a hamstring injury.

The report reveals the skilful winger has suffered a setback and is now also expected to miss Newcastle’s clash against Everton on Wednesday as well as their trip to Spurs.

Meanwhile, new star striker Alexander Isak is also expected to miss the next three games through injury (Daily Mail).

Saint-Maximin’s pace and ability to carry the ball certainly make Newcastle a much more potent threat on the counter-attack. With the Frenchman out, one would expect Tottenham to be able to press the Magpies fairly high, as they did against Everton, and come out on top.
