Report: Newcastle make transfer decision on player Spurs are willing to loan out

Football Insider have revealed that Newcastle United have decided not to pursue a deal for Dele Alli when the transfer window opens next month.

It was initially reported a few weeks ago that Conte had given the green light for Tottenham to move Alli on in January.

However, the 25-year-old put in an impressive performance on his return to the starting eleven in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool last week.

Some sources suggested that Spurs may have had a change of heart regarding Alli after his performance against the Reds (Fabrizio Romano –Here We Go Podcast, starting at 16.14).

Football Insider have now claimed that, despite the former MK Dons man impressing against Jurgen Klopp’s men, the North London club are still open to letting him go in January.

The report claims the England international is most likely to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on loan next month.

However, it is asserted that Newcastle are not in the running for Alli as Eddie Howe has decided to prioritise strengthening other positions next month.

While Dele showed some promising signs against Liverpool, that one performance is unlikely to be enough to change Conte’s mind. The midfielder will likely get a couple more opportunities through the Christmas period and he needs to grab them with both hands if he is to save his Spurs career.
