According to The Daily Mail, Sean Longstaff has signed a deal with super-agent Pini Zahavi, who previously indicated that he could get the Newcastle midfielder a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Longstaff made a terrific impression after breaking into the Magpies side two years ago but he has failed to hit the same heights of late, with a knee injury he picked up last year halting his progress.
His current contract with Newcastle reportedly runs until 2022 but talks over a new deal are said to have stalled, with the club believing the demands of Longstaff’s former representatives were too high.
Zahavi has a good relationship with the Spurs hierarchy as he was pivotal to the North Londoners’ capture of Jose Mourinho last year (talkSPORT).
The Mail reports that the Israeli super-agent sees a lot of potential in Longstaff and has signed a 12-month deal to represent him.
The report claims that Zahavi previously told those close to the 23-year-old that he could get him a move to Spurs if he signs with him.
It is asserted that a transfer away from St James’ Park could be on the cards for the midfielder if he does not put pen to paper on a new deal with Steve Bruce’s side.
