According to GiveMeSport, Harry Kane is on the list of ‘dream signings’ that Newcastle United have drawn up ahead of the summer transfer window.
The report claims that Newcastle are hopeful of being able to attract big names to the club when the transfer window opens in the summer, on the back of their improved form over recent months.
The Magpies allegedly want to raise the bar as high as possible this summer and hope to bring in players who can help the club to break into the elite of English football.
It is alleged that some figures at St James’ Park believe ‘they have nothing to lose’ by trying to sign Kane this summer.
However, it is explained that Eddie Howe’s men do have alternatives in mind if a deal for the England captain proves unfeasible.
Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller are allegedly being viewed as alternatives if Newcastle’s dream of singing Kane does not materialise.
Spurs Web Opinion
Newcastle might be in a position to attract the likes of Kane in another two or three years but they certainly will not be able to do so this summer. The 28-year-old will likely only leave Spurs if there is a guarantee of winning silverware with another club. While the likes of City will offer that, Newcastle certainly would not.
