Report: Newly promoted side set to swoop for striker wanted by Spurs

According to a report in the print edition of The Sun (as relayed by Birmingham Live) West Bromwich Albion are now ready to push ahead with a deal for rumoured Tottenham target Habib Diallo.

Reports have linked Spurs with the likes of Arkadiusz Milik (Calcio Mercato), Haris Seferovic (Mais Transferencias) and Wout Weghorst (The Express) over recent days.

However, Diallo is another striker who was previously said to be on the Liltwhites’ radar (The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare).

Foot Mercato claimed last month that Metz had all but given up hope of holding on to the striker, who notched up 12 goals in 26 Ligue 1 appearances last season (transfermarkt.com).

However, The Sun now reveal that West Brom have stepped up their interest in the Metz star, who is keen on a move to the Premier League.

The report asserts that Slaven Bilic has identified the Senegal international as the man to bolster his forward line and that the Baggies are set to make a loan offer with a £20 million obligation to buy Diallo next summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Based on various reports doing the rounds, it does not sound like we have still made a definitive decision on which striker our number one target is. For the moment, we seem to be focused on getting a deal for Skrniar over the line. I suspect we will step up our chase for a striker once we secure the Slovak’s signature.
