Report: Next week ‘could be crucial’ in determining whether Spurs man seals move

The Daily Star have claimed that the next week could be crucial in determining whether Bryan Gil’s loan spell at Valencia is extended beyond the end of the season.

Gil failed to make much of an impact at Tottenham, either under Nuno Espirito Santo or Antonio Conte, after joining from Sevilla last summer.

However, the 21-year-old has rediscovered his form since completing a loan move to Valencia in January, having been one of Los Che’s best players since the transfer.

The Daily Star have now revealed that the youngster has been offered a chance to remain in Spain next season.

Valencia are thought to be keen on adding another year to Gil’s loan spell at the Mestalla (90 Min).

The Daily Star claim Valencia have already enquired about such an extension and the La Liga club believe we could know over the next week if the winger agrees or not.

The report adds that the Spaniard is not currently in Antonio Conte’s plans and that Spurs are expected to enter the market for a forward this summer.

It is explained that the North Londoners still view Gil as one for the future and are happy to be patient with him.

Even if Conte decides that Gil is not part of his plans, I still would not expect Spurs to sell the winger this summer. It is evident that the winger’s value is only going to increase over the coming years. So, I expect Tottenham to give the green light for his loan at the Mestalla to be extended.
