Report: No deal reached for Spanish international; Spurs refusing to pay over the odds

Tottenham Hotspur are yet to reach an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers for Adama Traore, according to The Athletic.

The north Londoners have been heavily linked with a move for the Spanish international in recent weeks but a move has failed to materialise with less than five days before the transfer window closes.

Wolves are reported to be holding out for their asking price for the jet-heeled winger and are in no rush to sell, given the current squad depth in his position together with the fact that he will be in demand during the summer window with his contract set to expire at the end of next season.

Traore is currently on holiday with his family with the upcoming international break giving clubs the opportunity to allow some of their playing staff to recharge.

Tottenham are said not to want to pay over the odds for the player, who has scored once in all competitions this season (transfermarkt).

This transfer is likely to drag on until the dying embers of the window with both clubs looking to get the best possible deal. Typically, Levy has always taken this stance and it has backfired on us on more than one occasion.
