Report: No return date for injured on-loan Tottenham man

ClubDoria46 have revealed (24/10/22 as translated by Sport Witness) that there is still no return date for Harry Winks.

After struggling for game time at Tottenham during the last two years, Winks would have been hoping to get his career back on track when he made the loan switch to Sampdoria in the summer.

However, things have not gone according to plan for the midfielder, who is yet to make the matchday squad for the Serie A side due to an ankle injury.

La Repubblica (15/10/22 as relayed by Sport Witness) revealed a week and a half ago that all the effort Sampdoria have put into helping the 26-year-old recover has gone to waste.

The report added that the England international was underdoing stem cell treatment after ‘living with the pain’ of his injuries over the last few years and that there is even a possibility of him returning to Spurs in January should his situation not improve.

ClubDoria46 have now explained that there is yet to be any firm indication from the Italian club regarding Winks’ return date.

The report adds that the on-loan Spurs man remains ‘a mysterious object’ and that Sampdoria fans are struggling to understand why the club signed him in the first place.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is clear that neither Sampdoria nor Tottenham anticipated that Winks would be out of action for this long. Otherwise, the move would not have gone ahead in the summer.

One has to feel for Winks as it must be extremely difficult to move to a new country and be sidelined for so long, without any idea of what the future holds.
