Report: ‘No sign’ of Spurs star committing his future to the club yet

The Telegraph have revealed that there is currently no progress being made by Tottenham in their attempts to tie down Harry Kane to a new contract.

Kane will undoubtedly go down as Tottenham’s biggest legend in the Premier League era, with the striker writing his name into the history books recently by becoming the club’s all-time record goalscorer.

The 29-year-old also overtook Wayne Rooney’s record to become England’s leading goalscorer during the international break but despite these achievements, some still continue to question his legacy, owing to his lack of silverware.

Pundits have repeatedly called for the striker to do what is necessary to win trophies, with Joe Cole suggesting this week that it would be a ‘travesty’ if the centre-forward ended his career without any silverware (26/03/23 Channel 4 via MEN).

Football Insider reported last week that Kane will be ready to put pen to paper on a new contract at Tottenham if the club appoint a world-class coach like Julian Nagelsmann to replace Antonio Conte.

However, The Telegraph have now stated that as things stand, there is ‘no sign’ that the Spurs talisman is set to renew his deal as we edge closer to the summer transfer window.

Kane certainly has no reason to commit his future to the club until there is clarity on whether we have qualified for the Champions League and who the club’s next head coach is.

If we do finish in the top four and manage to attract one of Nagelsmann or Pochettino, I believe that the 29-year-old will sign on the dotted line.
