Report: Number of Spurs players impressed with star in training; surprised at lack of game time

A number of Tottenham Hotspur players have been left surprised by how sparingly Jose Mourinho has decided to utilise the services of Gareth Bale this season, according to ESPN.

It is claimed by ESPN sources that the Welshman has impressed his team-mates during their training sessions at Hotspur Way which have left some feeling sorry for him over his lack of game time.

The Times reported Tottenham have no current plans in place to offer the Real Madrid star a second loan deal for next season after a number of injuries have curtailed his impact at the club.

The Welsh international has featured in just four Premier League games this season, making one start and was overlooked by Mourinho on Wednesday night when his side were drawing 1-1 with Fulham and instead decided to bring on Carlos Vinicius and Erik Lamela in their bid to score a winner (transfermarkt).

The report claims that Bale is not unhappy with his current lack of opportunities and his team-mates expect him to play a key part in the second half of the season.
