Sky Sports have revealed that Nuno Espirito Santo is considering altering Tottenham’s training schedule this week so that Giovani Lo Celso, Cristian Romero and Davinson Sanchez are up to speed to face Chelsea on Sunday.
All three players are currently serving their quarantine in a training camp in Croatia after travelling to South America during the international break.
As a result, they missed Tottenham’s clash against Crystal Palace on Saturday and will also not be available for the North Londoners’ Europa Conference League game against Rennes on Thursday.
Sky Sports explain that the three players will only arrive in the UK on Saturday, a day before the London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It is alleged that Nuno is thus considering modifying the training schedule by moving the final pre-match session to late on Saturday so that the trio can be involved in some tactical preparation ahead of the Chelsea clash.
Spurs Web Opinion
With doubts over Eric Dier’s fitness for the Chelsea clash and with Tanganga being suspended for the match after his red card against Palace, we desperately need both Romero and Sanchez for the game on Sunday.
I would not be surprised if both players went straight into the starting eleven, although Joe Rodon might feel a little hard done by as he did fairly well after replacing Dier at Selhurst Park.
