Report: Nuno could look to beat Liverpool to Wolves star

According to a report from The Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur could look to snap up Adama Traore from Wolves this summer.

Traore was a revelation under Nuno Espirito Santo at Molineux and it appears that the Portuguese coach wants to reunite with the pacy winger in North London.

However, Spurs are expected to face competition from Liverpool for the 25-year-old, with Jurgen Klopp said to be keen on taking him to Anfield.

The Star explain that Klopp has been a fan of Traore for a long time and Liverpool’s attempts to sign the Spaniard 18 months ago were rebuffed by Wolves, who were demanding £60m at the time.

However, it is claimed that a deal for Traore could prove more straightforward for the Reds to complete this summer as the player’s valuation is expected to have dropped significantly after his lacklustre 2020/21 campaign.

The report adds that Klopp would primarily want to use the Wolves star as an impact sub which might put off the winger from a move to Anfield.

Regarding Tottenham’s interest, the report states that Nuno will try to lure him to Spurs but only if the price is right.

Spurs Web Opinion

Despite Traore’s indifferent form last season, the 25-year-old is arguably the most effective impact substitute in world football. His pace and ability to take players out of the game could be invaluable against tired legs.

So, there is no doubt that he would be an excellent addition to the squad. If Spurs are seriously interested in the Wolves star, hopefully the Nuno factor will give us the edge over Liverpool.
