Report: Nuno has decision to make on Gareth Bale ahead of next season

Tottenham Hotspur may consider making a fresh approach to take Gareth Bale on a second loan spell, according to the Evening Standard.

The report claims that after Spurs appointed Nuno Espirito Santo as their new head coach, he may decide to revisit Bale’s situation and an approach may not be unthinkable.

Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett has already confirmed that the North Londoners do not have the option to sign him again for next season and still has a year on his contract to run with the Spanish giants (Evening Standard).

The 31-year-old is expected to hold talks with new Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti following the exit of Zinedine Zidane, and enjoyed a productive relationship with the Italian during his first stint in charge of the La Liga outfit.

He made 34 appearances for the north London side scoring 16 goals and registering 3 assists, but found himself unable to hold down a consistent place in the side under Jose Mourinho (transfermarkt).

SpursWeb Opinion

Bale has shown that he can still be a world-class player with glimpses of his brilliance on display last season despite being restricted by Mourinho, without his goals on the last day of the season, we would not even have European football to play ahead of us.

It would be brilliant to have him back again next season, but the lure of playing one final season in Madrid under Ancelotti may prove to be a step too far for Spurs.
