Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly pulled the plug on any potential loan move for Japhet Tanganga this month (Football Insider).
There were reports suggesting that the 22-year-old academy graduate was set for a loan away this upcoming season with Tottenham accepting a proposal from Turkish side Galatasaray.
However, Football Insider have now revealed that new manager Nuno Espirito Santo has made a U-turn such a move, pulling the plug after Tottenham’s opening-day win against Manchester City.
This means that the 22-year-old will now compete for a starting place under Nuno and potentially become a key member of the squad.
Tanganga started at right-back ahead of Matt Doherty and Serge Aurier against Man City and was excellent throughout, constantly preventing threats from Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling which earned him a deserved man-of-the-match award.
Up to now, the defender has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular. He has only played 25 matches in all competitions since making his debut for the club in the 2019/2020 season.

Tanganga was absolutely phenomenal against Man City – it was one of the best defensive displays in a Tottenham shirt I have ever seen.
The right-back slot is absolutely his for the moment. It is now his time to shine, he does not need to be loaned at all.
