Report: Nuno ‘may have other ideas’ over Spurs players that club were open to selling

Tottenham Hotspur were prepared to listen to offers for a number of first-team players this summer. according to ESPN.

Mauricio Pochettino warned everyone in 2019 that a ‘painful’ rebuild of the squad was required if the North Londoners were to improve their level to meet that of their brand new stadium (Evening Standard).

Just a matter of months later, the Argentine was dismissed by Daniel Levy and the rebuild did not happen; with Pochettino having proved to be right with the club having failed to have qualified for the Champions League for two seasons in a row.

Among the players Spurs were said to be receptive over leaving the club were Moussa Sissoko, Serge Aurier, Erik Lamela, Davinson Sanchez, Lucas Moura and Harry Winks.

Tottenham’s plans to listen to offers for the abovementioned players could now change following the appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo, who will now discuss the fate of his playing staff with Daniel Levy, Fabio Paratici and Steve Hitchen.

The vast majority of players mentioned in the above report would benefit from a move away from the club, while Spurs are likely to need to clear the decks in order to generate funds for new targets.
