Report: Nuno tells Man United the star he wants in Kane swap deal

According to Football Insider, newly appointed Tottenham Hotspur manager Nuno Espirito Santo wants Jesse Lingard to be one of the two Man United stars included in a sensational £100 million cash-plus-players exchange for Harry Kane.

Football Insider also reported that Man United are now in pole position to sign the England captain Kane following behind-the-scenes developments, with Ole Gunnar Solskaer’s side pushing hard for the striker.

Lingard’s future at Old Trafford is in major doubt with just a year remaining on his contract but the 28-year-old reignited his career with an impressive loan spell at West Ham in the second half of last season.

Lingard scored nine goals and five assists in 16 Premier League games and was a catalyst for West Ham’s impressive season as they qualified for the Europa League.

Manchester City reportedly made an opening bid for Harry Kane which would guarantee Tottenham at least £100m for the England striker.

City were also reportedly open to discussing a players-plus-money deal but Spurs rejected the offer for the 27-year-old. The swap option that City were open to discussing included Raheem Sterling, Aymeric Laporte, and Gabriel Jesus.

Another day, another rumour surrounding Kane. It will only heat up further after the Euro 2020 final on Sunday.

Selling Kane to Man United feels way too close to home; they’re a side that we should be looking to compete with.

Lingard is also a player that would add something nice to the attack, but not at the expense of Kane.
