Report: Nuno’s hopes of reuniting with Wolves star have been dashed

According to a report from 90min, Wolves have made it clear to Tottenham Hotspur that Conor Coady is not for sale this summer.

Tottenham’s rebuild is now underway, with Toby Alderweireld leaving the club and Fabio Paratici locked in negotiations with Atalanta for Cristian Romero.

While some sources indicate that the North Londoners are confident of striking a deal with Atalanta, others suggest that there is still a long way to go before the two parties come to an agreement.

If Tottenham are unsuccessful in their attempts to land Romero, reports claim that the Lilywhites could switch their attention to the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kurt Zouma and Nikolo Milenkovic instead.

Coady was another central defender who was previously rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, with Football Insider reporting last month that Nuno wanted to reunite with the England international at Spurs.

90 min have backed up that claim, suggesting that the Portuguese coach tried to bring Coady to N17.

However, it is alleged that the Midlands club let their former boss know that Coady was ‘untouchable’, thus dashing Nuno’s hopes.

The report also adds that the Wolves captain is happy to stay at Molineux and did not push to leave.

Spurs Web Opinion

Conor Coady might not have been the most exciting of additions but he would have certainly improved our backline and been a valuable player for us for a couple of years.

However, the likes of Romero (and even Milenkovic) are certainly a step above the 28-year-old in terms of quality and also have age on their side.
