Report: Nuno’s treatment of Poch regular not thought to be appreciated by senior players

Nuno Espirito Santo’s treatment of Harry Winks and some other players has not gone down well with a number of senior players within the Tottenham Hotspur dressing room, according to The Telegraph.

The 25-year-old, who spoke candidly about his situation following Tottenham’s Europa Conference League defeat at Vitesse Arnhem, has since not had a look in having been left out of the matchday squads for the past three fixtures against West Ham United, Burnley and Manchester United (The Times).

Winks opened up on his low confidence and admitted that he is not getting enough game-time to show his best for Tottenham, with the report claiming that he has been ‘punished’.

The boyhood Spurs fan has experienced a frustrating 18 months in North London with former boss Jose Mourinho and now Nuno Espirito Santo having limited his game time.

Under Mauricio Pochettino, Harry Winks was one of the brightest young midfield talents in England but has fallen from grace since the Argentine departed in November 2019.

His days in North London look to be numbered, unless whoever comes in to replace Nuno can help rediscover his confidence and get him back to the level he displayed against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in October 2017.
