Report offers insight into Levy’s view of Bale signing and Mourinho treatment

The Telegraph has revealed that Daniel Levy was not a fan of Jose Mourinho’s treatment of Gareth Bale over recent weeks.

Bale’s relationship with Mourinho has appeared quite strained at times this season but it looked like the pair had put their issues behind them as the Welshman started getting a regular run in the team back in February and was showing signs of coming back to his best.

Just when it seemed like he had turned a corner, the 31-year-old fell out of favour with Mourinho and failed to start a single Premier League game after being one of many Spurs stars to put in a poor performance in the North London Derby defeat in March.

The Telegraph report that Levy was not a fan of how Mourinho hauled Bale off before the hour mark at the Emirates and his reluctance to hand him game time since.

It is also claimed that it was the Spurs chairman who drove Bale’s return to the club and that Mourinho reluctantly accepted his signing.
