Report: On-loan Tottenham player suffers another injury blow

Sergio Reguilon is facing more than a month on the sidelines after being diagnosed with a thigh injury, Marca have revealed.

The 2022/23 campaign has been an extremely frustrating one for Reguilon, with the Spaniard missing almost the entirety of the first part of the season due to a groin injury.

The left-back only made his debut for Atletico Madrid just before the mid-season break for the World Cup and even took to Instagram at the start of the calendar year to admit that 2022 was ‘the worst year’ of his life.

Reguilon has made just four appearances in La Liga this season and would have been hoping to finish his loan spell at Metropolitano Stadium strongly.

However, the left-back now faces at least another month on the sidelines after picking up yet another injury.

Marca reveal that Reguilon pulled out of training on Monday citing discomfort, following which medical tests were carried out.

The tests showed that the on-loan Spurs man had suffered a muscle injury in his right thigh and he is now set to begin his rehabilitation.

For one reason or another, the loan moves have not worked out for most of Tottenham’s senior stars, including Reguilon, Ndombele, Lo Celso and Rodon.

Unless they manage to have strong finishes to the season, it will not be easy for Spurs to find buyers who are willing to pay a decent fee for them in the summer.
