Report on Nagelsmann’s preference comes as potential boost to Tottenham

Sky Sports have revealed that Julian Nagelsamann wants his next job to be in the Premier League.

It has been revealed by various outlets over the last couple of weeks that Nagelsmann is at the top of both Tottenham’s (Football Insider) and Chelsea’s shortlists ahead of the summer.

We relayed a report from The Times on Monday, which came as a blow to Spurs’ pursuit of the German as it was revealed that he had a face-to-face meeting with the hierarchy at Stamford Bridge.

The publication further asserted that Nagelsmann prefers the Chelsea job to the Tottenham one but added that he might also want to wait until the summer to see if the Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain job opens up.

Sky Sports have now also confirmed that the recently departed Bayern boss did meet with the Blues board recently.

The report states that Nagelsmann is ‘keen’ for his next adventure to be in the Premier League.

However, it is explained that Chelsea do not have any plans to cut short Frank Lampard’s tenure as interim head coach, which indicates that the 35-year-old is not intending to take the job until the summer.

If Nagelsmann does indeed want to manage in the Premier League and Chelsea decide to go another way, it could serve as a boost to Tottenham if they really do want the German.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Chelsea have seemingly already held meetings with the likes of Enrique and Nagelsmann, it appears like the Spurs hierarchy have not yet decided who their top targets are.

Perhaps the club are waiting for the verdict of Paratici’s appeal to push ahead with discussions regarding the managerial vacancy.
