Report: One club first launched bid for Harry Kane back in January

The Daily Star have reported that Manchester City first launched their bid to sign Harry Kane back in January of this year ahead of the summer transfer window.

It is said that Pep Guardiola and Man City made an inquiry about the England captain in the winter window, with Sergio Aguero leaving the club at the end of the season.

The report claims that Tottenham told the Citizens that a deal was not on the cards, but the Daily Star also hint that this may have triggered Kane going public last week.

The Spurs vice-captain opened up on his future in an interview with Gary Neville, claiming that he was at a crossroads in his career and needed to have a conversation with Daniel Levy.

Levy is apparently well aware that Man City are interested in his main man and have been for some time now.

It is said that the Spurs chairman would rather do business with the current Premier League champions rather than their cross-city rivals United or Chelsea.
