Report: Opposition manager scouted Tottenham out against Wolves last month

The Standard have revealed that new Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner was in attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to watch Spurs in action against Wolves.

Glasner has been at the venue before, with his Eintracht Frankfurt side losing 3-2 at Tottenham in the Champions League last season.

Even before the Austrian was officially confirmed as Rod Hodgson’s replacement at Selhurst Park, he allegedly made the trip to N17 to watch the Lilywhites in action against Wolves two weeks ago.

Oliver Glasner watched Tottenham vs Wolves

The 49-year-old would have witnessed the West Midlands side frustrate Spurs for the majority of the encounter, with Gary O’Neil’s side emerging with a 2-1 win.

Glasner will want his side to repeat the trick on Sunday and they come into the game with plenty of momentum, having brushed aside Burnley 3-0 in the former Leverkusen boss’ first game in charge last week.

Postecoglou will want to see a response from his side after the lacklustre showing against Wolves, with Tottenham currently sitting five points behind Aston Villa in fourth, although they do have a game in hand over the Villans.

Wolves certainly provided a clear blueprint on how to beat Spurs and with Glasner also preferring to play with three at the back, he will adopt a similar game plan in the hope of frustrating the home side and hurting them on the counter.
