Report: Out of favour Spurs star sells the highest amount of shirts in US state

According to a report by Soccer.com, Dele Alli’s shirts have sold more than any other footballers’ in the US state of Vermont.

The United States may not be universally known for its love of football (or soccer as it is known there) but the game has certainly grown considerably in the country over recent yeas.

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the best supported European clubs in the US and it is not particularly surprising to learn that the Spurs kits sell pretty well Stateside.

What is surprising however is that Dele Alli is the only Tottenham player to feature in Soccer.com’s list of the most sold men’s jerseys during the holiday season in the US.

In a map showing the player whose named fans got on the back of their shirts most often in each US state, it was revealed that residents of Vermont purchased Alli’s shirt more than any other player in world football.

Unsurprisingly, the list was dominated by the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe and US international Christian Pulisic but Alli was the only Tottenham player to feature with no place for the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.
