Report: Out of favour Tottenham player prepared to fight for his place

Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth reportedly wants to remain in North London and fight for his place at the club, according to The Athletic.

The 22-year-old missed the start of the campaign with an ankle injury which he picked up in the pre-season Audi Cup win against Bayern Munich and only returned to fitness in October (transfermarkt).

Foyth only started one Premier League game last season which came in the 2-2 draw at Norwich City and was brought off at half time by Jose Mourinho during a half where he made a mistake which led to a goal for the Canaries.

His season was once again disrupted following the restart of the season with a knee injury and failed to appear again.

Premier League newcomers Leeds United have been linked with a £15million move for the Argentine with his compatriot Marcelo Bielsa looking to bolster his defence ahead of their return to the top flight (The Sun).

The report claims that Foyth is yet to sit down and discuss his future with the club and will wait to hear about his chances of playing first-team football next season have improved and if not look, will for a move elsewhere; yet his desire at present is to remain where he is.
