Report outlines price Spurs-linked Zaniolo could drop to by the summer

TuttoMercatoWeb have revealed that rumoured Tottenham target Nicolo Zaniolo could be on his way out of AS Roma in January, with Napoli showing interest in the winger.

Tottenham’s approach for Zaniolo during the summer transfer window was well documented. In fact, Gianluca Di Marzio told Wettfreunde that the only reason Spurs missed out on the 23-year-old is because they explored a part-exchange offer while Roma preferred a straight cash deal.

Gazzetta dello Sport revealed a couple of weeks ago that although Roma’s general manager Tiago Pinto has already reached a verbal agreement with Zaniolo’s entourage regarding a new deal worth €4m (£3.4m) per season, a contract still had not been presented to the player.

The report alleged that the Italy international would consider the offers on the table from other clubs if the deal is not received by the end of January.

TMW have now asserted that Zaniolo has been contacted by Napoli regarding a January switch and the winger is ‘strongly considering’ joining the Serie A league leaders.

The report also explains that the silky left-footer is not in a hurry to leave the Stadio Olimpico and that his market value could come down to just €30m (£25.8m) if he stays at the Italian capital until the end of the season.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Zaniolo does not put pen to paper on a new contract with Roma before January, I am pretty confident that Spurs will test the waters for the winger as both Paratici and Conte seem to be big fans of the winger.

The North Londoners should have no problem blowing Napoli out of the water but perhaps the player might prefer to remain in Italian football as he looks to get his career back on track.
