Report outlines the ‘most exciting choice’ for Antonio Conte’s next job after Spurs exit

Journalist Vivo Perlei has written in his column for Calciomercato that a move to AS Roma might be the ‘most exciting choice’ on Antonio Conte’s table this summer.

The report reveals that Conte, who departed Tottenham at the end of March, has already started ‘looking for a new challenge’, which is likely to be in the Serie A.

It is explained that a return to Inter Milan could be on the cards as the Nerazzurri may get rid of Simone Inzaghi but there are said to be two potential obstacles that would prevent Conte from returning to the San Siro.

The first one is that the club cannot offer him a big salary, owing to their ‘economic difficulties’, and the second being that there is not likely to be much money to spend to reshape the squad.

Perlei states that the talks of a return to Juventus is ‘more of a suggestion than a real option’ for Conte at this point, with the Old Lady also having some financial issues.

The journalist adds that the most exciting option for the recently departed Spurs boss could thus be a move to the Stadio Olimpico as Jose Mourinho is tempted by the idea of taking over at Paris Saint-Germain.

Conte is not the sort of manager who would be content with getting the best out of an already existing squad.

The Italian is extremely demanding and will ask for players with specific skill sets to fit his system, which is why most Serie A clubs would be hesitant to hire him, given their current economic problems.
