Report outlines Weston McKennie’s thoughts about a January transfer

The Times have revealed that Tottenham target Weston McKennie is willing to leave Juventus when the transfer window reopens in January.

Multiple reports from Italy have revealed over recent weeks that Spurs hold a strong interest in McKennie and that Fabio Paratici could look to raid his former club once again for the USA international (Calciomercato).

It has also been suggested recently that Juventus may be open to cashing in on the midfielder as they need to raise funds to make a move for Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo De Paul in January (Il Bianconero).

CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs took to Twitter a couple of days ago to reveal that McKennie will only make a decision on his future after the World Cup.

He also added that Antonio Conte remains undecided on whether he would like Spurs to pursue the midfielder.

The Times have now said that the Lilywhites ‘could try again’ to sign McKennie in January and explained that the former Schalke man is keen to leave the Allianz Stadium despite starting most league matches this season.

Spurs Web Opinion

McKennie will be a relatively low-cost option and would give Conte a little more flexibility to use the 3-5-2. However, the fact that Spurs did not make a move for the 24-year-old in the summer makes me think that the Italian is unsure about the Juve star.
