The print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could turn their attentions to Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca as an alternative to Dusan Vlahovic.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham are expected in the market for a centre-forward when the transfer window opens in January.
Vlahovic has been heavily linked with a move to the North Londoners over the past couple of months.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Fiorentina man will be within Tottenham’s reach, with some sources suggesting that Manchester City are now the favourites to land the Serbian.
Gazzetta have now revealed that Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici has a list of alternatives in mind if a deal for Vlahovic proves difficult to pull off.
Scamacca is said to be one of the names on Paratici’s list, with the 22-year-old alleged to be wanted by many clubs in England.
After impressing on loan at Ascoli and Genoa the last two seasons, the young striker has shone on his return to the Mapei Stadium, having found the back of the net five times in the Serie A so far this campaign.

Gazzetta suggest that Scamacca could be an attractive option for Spurs especially if they part ways with Harry Kane.

If Harry Kane does not sign a new contract over the next few months, then Spurs will have little choice but to cash in on him in the summer.
He will only have two years left on his contract in the summer, which means that it is the last window where Tottenham can get a sizable fee for him.
However, I do not think Scamacca would be a direct replacement for Kane as he is still relatively unproven at the top level. He will likely be viewed as a decent backup for a more big-name centre-forward.
