Report: Paratici determined to get Spurs star signed to new contract

According to a report from 90 min, Fabio Paratici is prioritising agreeing a new long-term contract with Son Heung-min this summer.

Son had the best goal-scoring season of his career in 2020/21, managing to find the back of the on 22 occasions in all competitions for Tottenham.

The forward, who turned 29 on Thursday, has two years left to run on his contract with the North London club.

While multiple reports (Eurosport and Telegraph) have indicated that Spurs are in talks with the player over a new deal, the South Korean has chosen to keep his cards close to his chest.

Fabrizio Romano revealed last month that despite the apparent uncertainty surrounding Harry Kane’s future, Tottenham are confident that they will be able to agree on a new deal with Son.

90 min have now asserted that getting the former Bayer Leverkusen man to commit his future to Spurs is at the top of Paratici’s wishlist.

Spurs’ new managing director of football is said to be ‘determined’ to get the deal agreed with the forward’s representatives.

Spurs Web Opinion

With reliable sources now indicating that Kane is likely to stay for at least another season and with Son now looking set to commit his future to the club, our struggles last season do not seem to have cost us as much as they threatened to.

Rebuilding our squad to get us back into the top four could have become insurmountably harder had we lost one or even both of Kane and Son this summer.
