Report: Paratici makes contact with 23-year-old centre-back’s agent

According to a report from Viola News, Tottenham Hotspur could beat West Ham United to the signature of Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic.

Some sources have indicated that Spurs could be in the market for two new central defenders during this summer’s transfer window.

Tottenham’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, seems to be wasting no time in pushing ahead with the club’s transfer plans, with the Italian seemingly having several irons in the fire.

It has been rumoured that Spurs have already launched offers for Sevilla’s Jules Kounde and Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu.

If Viola News are to be believed, Tottenham now have their eyes on another central defender in Milenkovic.

The report reveals that Paratici has contacted the Serbian’s agent about a potential transfer to North London.

It is explained that Fiorentina are ready to cash in on the 23-year-old for €25m (£21.4m) since he has only 12 months left to run on his contract.

The early signs are that Paratici has clearly identified the priorities to address this summer (right back and centre-back) and is trying to sort the issues early on in the transfer window. However, with Levy still likely to do the negotiating, I would not be surprised if we leave it until late in the window to complete a few deals.
