Report: Tottenham have now expressed interest in Premier League striker

The Athletic have reported that Tottenham have now expressed an interest in signing Danny Ings this summer after the striker turned down a new contract at Southampton.

The same publication reported last week that Ings had rejected a four-year deal that would have made him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.

Now it appears that Ings’ contract situation has caught the eye of Tottenham who have reportedly made their interest known.

Football London, when reporting on the story, also added that Fabio Paratici has seemingly made the decision to pursue Ings.

However, The Athletic also name West Ham and Aston Villa as potential suitors for Ings this summer if the striker is to leave the South Coast.

Southampton CEO, Martin Semmens has previously ruled out an Ings sale, claiming that the forward would be with the club for the remainder of his current contract at least.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Danny Ings for £20m or below would be a superb buy for Spurs. Not only a man who can replace Kane in the starting XI when he is injured or rested, but Ings can also play alongside the Tottenham number 10. He would be a class acquisition.
