Nicolo Schira has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their efforts to sign Marcus Thuram, with Fabio Paratici spearheading the club’s pursuit of the Borussia Monchengladbach forward.
Thuram has had an outstanding campaign, registering 11 goals and 12 assists in all competitions for Gladbach.
Previous reports from Germany had indicated that Tottenham are eyeing a move for the French forward, who is expected to leave the Bundesliga club this summer.
RMC Sport’s Mohamed Bouhafsi claimed last week that Spurs had already begun talks with Gladbach for Thuram, who was viewed as a priority by the North London club.
Schira has now also reiterated that Tottenham are pushing ahead with a move for the 23-year-old. The journalist explained that Paratici is in talks with Thuram’s agent, Mino Raiola, who Tottenham’s new managing director of football has a good relationship with.
He also revealed that the forward has a release clause of €30m (£25.7m) in his contract.
