Report: Paratici still to finalise appointment of his second in command

Tottenham Hotspur managing director of football, Fabio Paratici is yet to finalise the appointment of his second in command, according to Football.London.

The report claims that final interviews have been conducted, with the candidate likely to come from overseas, however, at present there has been no official appointment.

The Italian joined Tottenham last summer after spending the previous eleven years at Serie A giants Juventus.

Paratici is said to have undertaken a comprehensive revamp of the club’s scouting and recruitment teams, with the Evening Standard claiming in April that he was close to bringing in a new face to help him run the football side of operations following Steve Hitchen’s departure.

The 49-year-old wants more specialist knowledge of the English transfer market within his team as he looks to support Antonio Conte with the rebuild of the Tottenham side to help the club become serious contenders for silverware.

It appears that either the hunt for a number two is taking longer than first anticipated, Paratici will certainly need help with his workload if the club are serious about making as many as five new signings this summer, while a number of current players also need to be sold.
