Report: Paratici targets move for centre-back Spurs were linked with in 2020

Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed that Fabio Paratici wants to bring Milan Skriniar to Tottenham this summer.

Spurs were heavily linked with a move for Skriniar during last summer’s transfer window but failed to get the deal over the line.

The central defender subsequently established himself as an important part of Antonio Conte’s backline last season, playing a key role in the Nerrazuri’s impressive defensive record which was central to their historic Scudetto win.

It was reported back in April that Spurs could reignite their interest in the Slovakian international this summer.

Di Marzio has now backed up that claim, revealing that Tottenham’s new managing director of football is eyeing a move for Skriniar.

The report explains that the Inter star is viewed as an alternative to Bologna centre-back Takehiro Tomiyasu.

However, it is asserted that the Nerrazuri are demanding a whopping €60m (£51.5m) for the 26-year-old.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that Skriniar has only two years left to run on his contract, I do not see how Inter could demand £50m for the centre-back. Given that the Serie A champions need to sell players to raise transfer funds, one would hope that they would lower their valuation over the coming weeks and months.
