Report: Paratici was ‘repeatedly fined’ for pitch-side behaviour at Juventus

Football Italia have revealed that Fabio Paratici was fined on plenty of occasions for his behaviour on the sidelines during his time at Juventus.

Tottenham’s new managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, and technical performance director, Steve Hitchen, have had seats on the bench for the team’s fixtures in the season.

Videos have been circulating on social media showing both Paratici and Hitchen getting quite animated during matches and even shouting at the officials.

The Sun revealed on Sunday that some Tottenham players are ‘uncomfortable’ with the way in which Hitchen and Paratici are behaving, with the players not feeling able to speak freely among themselves with the pair sitting next to them in the dugout.

Football Italia have now revealed that this will not come as news to Juventus fans, who were often ‘angered’ by Paratici’s behaviour on the sidelines.

The report claims that the Italian was ‘repeatedly fined’ and criticised for his outbursts. Paratici was allegedly fined a total of €50,000 by the Italian authorities over the course of his time with the Old Lady.

It is revealed that the most infamous of these moments was during Juve’s game against Udinese at the Dacia Arena last season when Paratici rushed to confront the referee at half-time and berated him for not giving any stoppages.

Udinese director-general Pierpaolo Marino accused the 49-year-old of trying to influence the referee, and the incident is thought to be one of the catalysts in Juve’s decision not to renew Paratici’s contract.

Spurs Web Opinion

The reaction of Spurs fans on social media to Paratici’s and Hitchen’s behaviour has largely been positive. It is nice to see the pair showing passion.

However, I do wonder if Nuno and his coaching staff might have reservations with them mixing so closely with the squad.
