Report: Paratici will take press conference today – Conte work visa details explained

The Evening Standard have revealed that Antonio Conte will not be facing the media in this afternoon’s press conference as his work visa will not be ready in time.

Conte met the Tottenham staff and squad at Hotspur Way yesterday and observed the players train.

Although the Italian has worked in England with Chelsea before, the club will have to get a work visa ready for him since the UK’s employment laws have since changed due to Brexit.

Sky Italia (via The Daily Express) have claimed that the work visa might take a few days to be approved and Conte is thus not expected to take charge of Tottenham’s Europa Conference League clash against Vitesse on Thursday.

The report claimed that the 52-year-old might have to wait until Spurs’ trip to Goodison Park on Sunday to take his place in the dugout.

However, The Evening Standard have asserted that there are no concerns about Conte not being able to take charge of Thursday’s clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Due to the delay in the work visa, it is explained that Conte will not be able to address the media today. Instead, Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici and club captain Hugo Lloris will field the questions during the press conference.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is a shame that Conte will not be at the press conference but it is a very good opportunity for the media to pose some questions to Paratici about Nuno’s time at the club and Conte’s appointment.

It would be the first time that the Spurs managing director of football has addressed the press in any meaningful way and it will be quite interesting to see him lay out the club’s vision.
