According to the print edition of L’Equipe (04/08/23 as relayed by Sport Witness), Strasbourg’s interest in Davinson Sanchez is being driven by the club’s head coach Patrick Vieira.
While it is clear that Sanchez is on his way out of Tottenham this summer, it remains to be seen where the centre-back will end up.
A whole host of clubs have been credited with an interest in the Colombian recently, with 90 min claiming last week that Strasbourg and Spartak Moscow had both been given permission to speak to the defender earlier in the summer while Galatasaray have recently opened talks with Spurs.
In addition, the outlet suggested that Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Wolves had also made enquiries to Spurs about the 27-year-old.
Strasbourg remain keen on Spurs’ Davinson Sanchez
L’Equipe have now stated that Strasbourg have not given up hope of landing Sanchez, with Vieira continuing to push for the player.
It is explained that the former Crystal Palace boss wants to add an experienced centre-back to his backline, with the Tottenham star said to fit the bill.
The report alleges that the French side are open to making a move for Sanchez over the coming weeks.
Spurs Web Opinion
Tottenham would want to get a bidding war going to jack up Sanchez’s price but the defender himself will likely have a big say on where he ends up. At this point, it does not seem like there is a clear favourite for the centre-back’s signature.
