Report: Philippe Coutinho source reveals positive update on Spurs pursuit – ‘Significantly reduced price’

Tottenham Hotspur may have just received a boost in their reported pursuit of Philippe Coutinho ahead of the summer transfer window.

Football Insider report that Spurs are one of the Premier League clubs who asked Barcelona to keep them informed about the Brazilian’s situation.

The report goes on to claim that a source with knowledge of Coutinho’s current situation in Spain revealed that Barcelona are looking for a buyer.

This source apparently added that the Spanish giants are open to a season-long loan or permanent deal, with the playmaker coming at a ‘significantly reduced price’.

The 27-year-old recently spent the season on loan with Bayern Munich in Germany, but it has been claimed that the Bundesliga giants will not be exercising their option to make the deal permanent.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Everton have all also expressed an interest in the former Liverpool midfielder this year, with his eventual price to be dictated by the current financial climate.
