Report: PL club are preparing for the potential sale of Spurs and Liverpool target

The Telegraph reveal that Crystal Palace are preparing for the possibility of Marc Guehi leaving the club in the summer as the likes of Tottenham continue to circle the centre-back.

Guehi has established a reputation as one of the most reliable centre-backs in the Premier League since swapping Chelsea for Palace back in 2022 and the defender is expected to be a key player for England at next summer’s Euros.

Dean Jones wrote in his column on Sports Lens a couple of weeks ago that Tottenham are one of several Premier League clubs eyeing a summer move for the 23-year-old.

The Telegraph have now also backed up Spurs’ interest in Guehi, revealing that the Lilywhites have been joined in the race for the England international by Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Amidst interest from these clubs, it is said that Palace are already looking around Europe for centre-back targets to replace the former Chelsea man.

The report points out that since Guehi will have just two years left to run on his contract at Selhurst Park in June, the next transfer window will be the Eagles’ last chance to get a big fee for the player.

The publication adds that with interest in the young defender now growing, Oliver Glasner’s side are expected to demand more than £50m for him.

Spurs Web Opinion

I cannot see Tottenham spending £50m plus on another centre-back after bringing Radu Dragusin through the door in January. The bulk of the North London clubs’ transfer budget will likely be spent on a striker, a winger and a defensive midfiedler.
