Report: PL club are ready to offer player a bumper contract to ward off Spurs interest

The Standard have revealed that Fulham are prepared to make Tosin Adarabioyo one of their highest earners in an effort to stop the Tottenham target from leaving Craven Cottage in the summer.

Even though Tottenham signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa in January to serve as a backup for Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, Ange Postecoglou confirmed last week that the club intend to enter the market for another central defender in the summer (Football.London).

Adarabioyo, whose current deal at Craven Cottage runs out in June, is thought to be one of the names on Spurs’ radar, with Football Insider revealing a few days ago that both the Lilywhites and Liverpool are eyeing moves for the 26-year-old.

Fulham want Adarabioyo to sign a new contract

The Standard have also named Tottenham and Liverpool as two interested clubs in Adarabioyo and they say that AC Milan are also circling over the Englishman.

However, the outlet suggests that Fulham are not prepared to give up their efforts to tie him down to a new deal and the West London club are now even prepared to offer the defender a bumper contract in an effort to do so.

The publication adds that for the moment, Adarabioyo is focused on having a strong end to the season and this has given Marco Silva’s men a window to try and tie him down, with Fulham said to have already begun talks.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even if Adarabioyo does not sign a new deal with Fulham and decides to leave on a free transfer in the summer, I doubt he would be too keen on a switch to Tottenham, knowing full well that he would struggle for game time at the North London side.
