Report: PL club could ‘accelerate’ negotiations for Spurs-linked centre-back

According to Torino Granata, Liverpool could now accelerate negotiations to land rumoured Tottenham target Gleison Bremer in January.

Since Antonio Conte was appointed as the Tottenham head coach two weeks ago, the North London club have been linked with several Serie A centre-backs.

Inter Milan duo Stefan De Vrij and Milan Skriniar, and AC Milan centre-back Alessio Romagnoli are all said to be on Spurs’ radar ahead of the January transfer window.

TuttoSport claimed recently that Bremer, who has been a consistent performer for Torino over the last few years, is another central defender that Conte likes.

The Brazilian’s current contract runs out at the end of next season but Torino are reportedly willing to triple the centre-back’s current £18,000 per week salary to ward off interest from Liverpool and Spurs (TMW)

However, Torino Granata have now suggested that the Reds are favourites to beat Tottenham to Bremer’s signing in January.

The report claims that Jurgen Klopp’s men have been following the Torino defender closely for over a year.

It is said that ‘negotiation could accelerate’ between Liverpool and the Serie A club over the coming weeks., with Torino allegedly valuing the 24-year-old at around €10m (£8.5m).

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs have been linked with almost every Serie A player who is on the market in the two weeks since Conte’s appointment.

Strengthening at centre-back would likely be a priority for the new Spurs boss and he would have sat down with Paratici to discuss a potential list of targets.

It is anyone’s guess how far down Tottenham’s wishlist Bremer is or if the Brazilian is even on the list at all.
