Report: PL club launched offer for attacker that Fabio Paratici is a ‘fan’ of

Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed on his website that Leicester City have now launched an offer for rumoured Tottenham target Nicolas Gonzalez.

Gonzalez has developed impressively since swapping Stuttgart for Fiorentina 18 months ago, with the forward having found the back of the net on five occasions so far this season (Transfermarkt).

The Gazzetta dello Sport reported back in October that Fabio Paratici is a ‘big fan’ of the Argentine and could look to bring him to Spurs. Tottenham’s interest in the 24-year-old was also backed up by Calciomercato just this week, with the publication reporting on Monday that the North London club had have sent scouts to Italy this season to ‘closely follow’ the player.

However, Di Marzio has now revealed that Leicester have made the first big move for Gonzalez, with the Foxes said to have submitted a €30m (£26.5m) offer for the player.

The journalist added that Fiorentina are now pondering whether to accept the Premier League club’s bid.

Spurs Web Opinion

I can understand why Paratici’s network of scouts would have been keeping a close eye on Gonzalez, given how impressively the Argentine is developing. However, there has been no suggestions that he is anywhere near the top of Tottenham’s wishlist in the current transfer window.
