Report: PL club make Spurs player a ‘top priority’ target – Have now made contact

According to Football Insider, Everton are interested in signing Harry Winks from Tottenham this summer.

Winks fell out of favour at Spurs this season, making 19 Premier League appearances for the Lilywhites, with just nine starts to his name (TransferMarkt).

Spurs boss Antonio Conte preferred other options to the 26-year-old, with Rodrigo Bentancur, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Oliver Skipp all seemingly ahead of Winks in the pecking order.

With the recent arrival of Yves Bissouma from Brighton (Sky Sports), Winks is likely to receive little game time should he decide to stay at the club next season.

Spurs have reportedly slapped a £20 million price tag on their academy graduate this summer, informing Winks that he is free to leave if their demands are met.

Football Insider claim that Winks is a ‘top priority’ target for Everton, who have now made contact with Spurs over a potential deal.

The England international has been linked to clubs such as Southampton, Fulham, and Sevilla in the past (Sun), however Everton have now reportedly made a concrete approach to bring the player to Merseyside.

Spurs Web Opinion

Winksy clearly loves the club and it will be sad to see him moved on this summer. However, still just 26, it is important that he plays regular football and that will not be the case at Spurs for the foreseeable future. A move to Frank Lampard’s side to link up with Dele Alli would suit Winks in my opinion.
