Report: PL club make transfer decision with Kane deal ‘virtually impossible’

The Daily Mail have claimed that Chelsea are set to prioritise a deal for Romelu Lukaku this summer over Harry Kane.

Chelsea, along with the two Manchester clubs, have been suggested as the most likely destinations for Kane should the striker leave Spurs this summer.

Thomas Tuchel has admitted his admiration for the England captain, who has three years left to run on his contract in North London.

Prising the 27-year-old away from Tottenham is not likely to be easy, with some reports stating that Daniel Levy could demand close to £200m for the striker.

The Mail have now claimed that a deal to take Kane to Stamford Bridge looks ‘virtually impossible’ due to the rivalry between the two clubs.

Spurs and Chelsea have tended not to do deals with each other over the past decade and it looks like the Blues do not expect that to change during this summer’s transfer window.

It is thus asserted that Thomas Tuchel’s men have set their sites on bringing Lukaku back to the club, with Inter Milan ready to listen to offers for the Belgian international.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Kane does leave this summer (which I do not expect him to), then City are the only club that I can potentially see coughing up Levy’s asking price. Pep Guardiola’s men might want to spend big on a centre-forward to replace Aguero after their loss in the Champions League final. However, their number one target will likely be Erling Haaland as the Norwegian will be a cheaper option and has his whole career in front of him.
