90 min have claimed that Crystal Palace could offer Marc Guehi a new contract to keep him off the clutches of the likes of Tottenham Hotspur.
Over the last month or so, various outlets have reported that Guehi is one of the centre-backs on top of Tottenham’s wishlist ahead of the January transfer window (GiveMeSport).
However, a couple of days ago, TEAMtalk offered a blow to Spurs’ chances of signing the 23-year-old by revealing that Palace have no intention of letting the player leave before next summer.
The outlet added that the centre-back himself was keen to see out the season at Selhurst Park so that he gives himself the best chance of getting into England’s startling eleven for next summer’s European Championship.
Potential new contract offer for Marc Guehi
90 min have also backed up the claim about both Guehi and Palace having no intention of green-lighting a January transfer.
They say that this comes as a blow to Tottenham, Newcastle United and Manchester United, who are all tracking the defender closely.
In fact, the publication goes on to add that the Eagles are plotting to hand the England international a new contract with a significant pay rise.
Spurs Web Opinion
Given how high Guehi’s stock is at the moment, a move to a bigger club looks inevitable for the 23-year-old next summer, particularly if he excels at the Euros. I would be surprised if the centre-back signs a new contract at Palace which does not contain a release clause.
