Report: PL star linked with Spurs could be given £130m price tag this summer

TuttoMercatoWeb have revealed that Real Madrid are willing to pay just short of £100m to land rumoured Tottenham target, Alexis Mac Allister in the summer.

The speculation linking Mac Allister with a move away from Brighton continues to gather steam as we head closer to the summer transfer window.

90 min reported last month that Tottenham are one of the clubs who are keen on snapping up the 24-year-old, with the Lilywhites said to be battling the likes of Liverpool, Newcastle United and Chelsea for the player’s signature.

The publication asserted that the Argentina international is expected to be on the move at the end of the season as he has already made up his mind to take the next step in his career.

However, if TMW’s latest update is to be believed, the North London club might have some competition to contend with from Real Madrid for the Brighton star’s signature.

The outlet claims that Los Blancos want a player who can serve as a ‘link between the defensive and offensive phases’ and have identified Mac Allister as a good fit.

The report explains that Brighton have no intention of letting the midfielder leave on the cheap and could demand as much as €150m (£131.5m) for the player’s services.

TMW add that Madrid would be willing to pay €110m (£96.5m) for Mac Allister but are not prepared to go beyond that.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Mac Allister is a quality player, there is little value for money to be had in paying the sort of amounts mentioned in this report.

It is generally not a good idea to sign players on the back of a good European Championship, World Cup or Copa America as their value becomes heavily inflated over the next 6 to 12 months.
