Report: Man City player who Spurs reportedly snubbed is now wanted by Real Madrid

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte is interesting Real Madrid this summer after reportedly being turned down by Spurs in a swap move for Harry Kane.

City had a bid of £100m turned down for Kane back in June, and were said to be open to including players in a deal for the Spurs talisman.

In June, Fabrizio Romano claimed that some of the names Pep Guardiola could offer in a potential transfer were Laporte, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus.

The Italian journalist, though, has since revealed that Spurs rejected an offer of Laporte and Jesus plus cash for Kane, on the Here We Go podcast.

Now, the Daily Mail report City will allow the French central defender to leave the club for a figure upwards of £60m, with interest received from the likes of Madrid and Juventus.

Laporte will likely be playing second fiddle in Manchester, with Guardiola tending to favour Ruben Dias and John Stones as a defensive pair.

A player like Laporte would be a nice addition to the squad, particularly alongside new signing Cristian Romero. Even though the Frenchman would be a welcome asset in defence, as already reported, Spurs are simply not interested in taking any of City’s discarded players, as part of a deal for Kane, with Daniel Levy still holding out for a minimum bid of £150m.
